The Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, through the Ministry of Sustainable Development, has awarded Euroarce (Grupo SAMCA) the 2025 Environmental Award for the project Redrawing Landscapes. The ceremony, held in Molina de Aragón, was presided over by the regional president, Emiliano García-Page, who presented the award to Javier Álvarez González on behalf of Euroarce.
The Redrawing Landscapes project focuses on the ecological restoration of the San Luis mining operation in Arguisuelas (Cuenca), covering an area of 14 hectares and applying advanced geomorphological restoration techniques.
The initiative seeks not only to restore the landscape, but also to fully integrate the mining site into its natural surroundings. In addition, measures have been implemented to improve soil quality and promote biodiversity in the area, demonstrating long-term commitment to sustainability.
This geomorphological restoration project previously received first prize in the Environmental Management category at the inaugural National Mining and Life Awards in 2024.
