Euroarce (Grupo SAMCA) has acquired new assets in Poveda de la Sierra (Guadalajara) as part of Caobar’s insolvency proceedings. The acquisition significantly increases the company’s mineral reserves (kaolin and silica sand) and expands its overall production capacity for raw materials supplied to the ceramic industry.
The acquired assets include a portfolio of mining rights, two active mines and an industrial plant in Poveda de la Sierra, together with all the licences, authorisations, administrative concessions and permits required to resume operations.
Euroarce plans to restart kaolin and silica sand production in Guadalajara as soon as possible, while retaining the 14 direct jobs associated with these assets. The aim is to develop a stable, long-term industrial project in partnership with regional and local authorities and with strong ties to the surrounding area.
EThe acquisition forms part of Euroarce’s growth strategy in the Iberian market and marks another significant milestone following the approval last April of the new La Dehesa white clay mining project, located across the municipalities of Crivillén, Gargallo and Estercuel in the province of Teruel.
