On World Environment Day, Euroarce reaffirms its commitment to responsible industrial activity that helps strengthen rural communities while protecting and enhancing the natural environment.
This year marks ten years of collaboration with Apadrinaunolivo.org, an initiative based in Oliete (Teruel, Spain) dedicated to restoring abandoned olive groves and creating new opportunities for people living in rural areas.
Euroarce became the first company to support the project in November 2016 by sponsoring 20 olive trees. Since then, the partnership has grown into a long-term commitment focused on environmental restoration, local development and the sustainable use of the region’s natural resources.
Restoring olive groves, creating new opportunities
Since its launch in 2014, Apadrinaunolivo.org has developed a model that combines environmental recovery, job creation and rural revitalisation. Its mission extends beyond saving abandoned olive trees: it is about helping rural communities build a sustainable future. Through its collaboration with the initiative, Euroarce has supported a range of projects linked to traditional olive cultivation, local economic activity and innovation in rural development.
A shared commitment to the land
One of the most significant examples of this partnership can be found at Mina Beatriz, where ecological restoration work has enabled the planting of nearly 400 olive trees through international volunteer programmes, while a further 400 trees have been rescued and relocated to prevent their loss.
The partnership also extends to supporting the Oliete olive mill, promoting housing and employment initiatives, and helping to implement innovative solutions developed within the province of Teruel.
Euroarce’s environmental commitment is reflected in practical actions that form part of a broader sustainability strategy. Across its operations, the company works to integrate sustainability through mine restoration, biodiversity conservation, efficient water management, emissions reduction and the promotion of renewable energy. Projects such as the restoration of Mina Beatriz and the ecological recovery of SICA–San Luis in Cuenca — recognised with both national and regional environmental awards — demonstrate Euroarce’s commitment to creating lasting environmental and social value in the territories where it operates.
