The LIFE REWAINCER project consortium held its second monitoring meeting at the offices of Facsa, where the project’s coordination activities are carried out. This meeting was followed by a visit to the Cabanes Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), where the LIFE REWAINCER pilot plant—recently completed and handed over—will be installed. The industrial-scale demonstration plant will transform wastewater into high-quality reclaimed water suitable for industrial use.
This visit concluded at Euroarce’s (Grupo SAMCA) spray-drying plant in Cabanes, where the reclaimed water will be validated under real operating conditions.
LIFE REWAINCER is a demonstration project aimed at generating an alternative water source suitable for the ceramic industry, thereby reducing freshwater extraction from the aquifers of Castellón and alleviating water stress. Wastewater reclamation technologies will be validated to enable the direct industrial use of reclaimed water, helping to increase water availability in the province.
